Quiz Results Show Engineering Marketers could Brush Up on their Analytic Skills

Are you curious to know how your knowledge stacks up against other engineering marketers? 

How marketers rank in their industry and marketing knowledge

ENGINEERING.com recently ran a quiz for engineering marketers called “So you want to be a CMO” – and the results are in! Our analysis shows we are strong on industry knowledge and campaign execution, but not so great at math.

Here are some sample questions from each of the sections;

Engineering Industry Knowledge: Eloqua, Hubspot and Act-on are all brands of what kind of software?

Marketing Campaign Execution: You are running a content marketing campaign.  What is a good way to measure your audience’s engagement?

Marketing Knowledge: After Google, what is the 2nd most frequently used website for searching topics?

Campaign Analysis: You run an A/B test on subject lines in an email.  A has an open rate of 14% and a CTR on the opens of 5%.  B has an open rate of 11% and a CTR on the opens of 6%.  Which subject line should you run?

Over 60 engineering marketers took the quiz, and averaged a score of 11/16.  If you want to see how you stack up, the quiz is still open and results are anonymous.
